Salary: £5,959 – £6,703 per annum (£29,799 – £33,518 per annum x 0.20 fte)

The School of Health Sciences and Social Work intends to appoint a Senior Research Associate, who will work on a project funded by the British Academy/Leverhulme and which will look at ‘Visual representations of Roma people: moving beyond stereotypes’. The over-arching aim of this project is to utilise and advance academic knowledge on the portrayal of frequently marginalised communities and associated processes in order to challenge and change practices that keep negative visual representations in circulation.
Working from home is permitted, although the successful candidate will be located in the Faculty of Science and will be expected to attend supervision at the University of Portsmouth or at the Open University (Milton Keynes).
A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject and relevant research experience are required. We are looking for self-motivated candidates, who are able to work independently.
